Honed marble countertops

Why do my new honed marble countertops feel gritty/dirty all the time?? Please help!

Went ahead and called my fabricator to ask his opinion. He mentioned it could be the grade of slab you purchased. Also suggested to try using fine steel wool in an inconspicuous area, scrub it lightly but not too hard as you can etch your stone. If this works, you'll have your work cut out for you. He also stated that you will need a penetrating sealer for honed products due to its porosity.

That's a cleaner with a polish in it. Her counter top is honed. Will alter the appearance of the stone.

Cinar interiors, renovators chose and put the slab in, but I do know it is a white carrera marble. The store said they seal before installing but renovators also used this to seal as a DIY project

BulletProof is good but I wouldn't recommend it for a honed surface. If your backsplash is polished you can use this product on it. Use a clean rag to wipe on.
Same brand of sealer (recently bought out by Laticrete, not DuPont any longer), look for their Impregnator Pro sealer. This is a penetrating sealer. You'll want to wipe on with a clean rag.

The cleaner you posted on the other thread is the exact product I recommend for cleaning all natural stone counters, great product. Can be used daily but I only used it once every couple weeks for our counters.

I used a microfiber cloth and soap and that changed things dramatically (maybe eliminating something from the paper towels??) and am now using a wire scourer. This has removed nearly everything!! So happy!! Thank you for all of your help!!

Do I need to reseal with something like bulletproof after I use the scourer? Or will just contributing to use the revitalized cleaner and protector daily be enough for 6 months-ish?
