i know! right? i think if its on the wall, it'll have to be a huge tv if you want to see it in the kitchen. like if people are over to watch a football game or something? you think?

For us, it would have to be big enough to be seen from the kitchen. Football is important.

Are you staging or living in the space 2 very different things IMO the T.V on the wall across from the kitchen is where it belongs I like the Besta system from Ikea for under the T.V and along that wall for storage something like this not that dark if you like lighter I love it because you can configure just for you I would honestly ignore the fireplace as focal point and just have it for ambience this space is large so maybe even 2 seating areas with a bench in the middle for conversation , we have a big LR and find this works really well whaen we have a crowd

well we dont know if we should put the tv on the big all, or on a table of some sort/entertainment center. it needs to be a good size to see when you're in the kitchen. but he also wants a tv in the kitchen. i dont mind, but i just want a small one in the kitchen not another big one. it'll look dumb. i think.

Maybe a modular sectional?

I think a sofa and two chairs would work better in this space. You can put a sofa perpendicular to the fireplace with the tv on some kind of console on the large wall. I would add an area rug in front of the sofa, a coffee table, and two chairs opposite the sofa in front of the windows with a small table between them. This would let you see the fireplace and tv from the living room, along with giving an unobstructed view of the tv from the kitchen.

Looks like a fun place to have a party, and I really like the idea of having a games table over by the window for those of us who enjoy a bit of distraction with our football ;)

How wide is that wall between kitchen opening and doorway into the kitchen (far left of photo)? Could you hang the TV on that wall on a swing arm? That way you could angle it how you need it, have a large sofa or sectional on "the wall" plus at least one chair in the corner by the fireplace and at least one facing the window, with the TV to its left. I hope that makes sense, just another way to go.

@edwards4four id like to, but theres' a walkway into that room and a fireplace that divides part of the kitchen and living room. so it won't really work that way.

@anna dw yes that make sense. we did talk about a tv mount w/a swing. in the corner window next to the fire place so it can swing out to be seen in the living room and kitchen. but it may cover up part of that window. in a way, i dont think it'll be a big deal though we have a lot of windows.
