No problema amiga! I was not too sure that I wanted 3 bulbs of Magic Touch but then remembered Summer (my grandbaby). She would love to have a new one for her collection. Plus now it's discounted so I went ahead and got some. 3 Exotic Peacocks jumped in my shopping cart also by the way. Lol I hope Magic Touch blooms true as pictured. But then ya'll know how these provided pics are.

The picture of Magic Touch from WFF looks the same and I think they bloom most of their offerings before sending them out which is probably why they don't ship until mid Nov. Their pictures show a better red so if these are true to name then they should be nice!! Right?!!?

Any of you got shipping notice from Dutch Bulbs yet? It's been 2 weeks since I paid for my order and nothing's happened since. I'm getting excited for Magic Touch. This is Amazone Amaryllis' picture of it growing in their greenhouse for cutflower trade. Should have good quality blooms if this is the case for this variety. Yesssss!

I'll email them asap then as I also ordered some bulbs that needs to be planted in the ground before it freezes. And we are getting cold fast! Thanks for that tip!

I got my notice Monday, my bulbs should be here Saturday. Magical Touch, Barbados, Black Pearl!

I got my notice several days ago too but was dismayed when they took it upon themselves to drop our P. O. Box number from our mailing address which they for some reason decided to make different than our billing address!! I emailed them immediately but don't know if they fixed it.

Now, if these are coming UPS then there won't be any problem but if USPS, I'm probably screwed. Hopefully, I'm venting for nothing but it just frustrates me so much when companies do this.

I too am looking forward to the Magic Touch's blooms which look really lovely in every picture I've seen; the picotee shows beautifully in them all.

Well, after al my complaining, my order did arrived today sans P.O Box #. But, we got the girl with the smile instead of the guy with the scowl!☺

The box was heavy and the bulbs look great! They were quite large and I peeled 2 layers off to get all the split skin off, it probably wasn't necessary to peel 2 layers but I did and now they look nice and neat. Nice and firm with no rot or other issues!

Next comes the second order from Royal Colors and I'm waiting on an order from Komoriya which is taking some time. Hope they haven't bloomed out!!

I got my bulbs from van Bourgondien (DutchBulbs.com), and I am mostly happy. I ordered three each of (top to bottom) Barbados, Black Pearl, and Magical Touch.

For some reason, one of the Black Pearl packages came with two bulbs in the bag instead of one! Freebie!

They mostly looked good and firm. I did notice that the ones in the plastic bags were very damp, and if I hadn't cleaned them up when I did, they would have rotted badly.

I had to peel three layers on one of the Black Pearls, and the top left Barbados looked like this.

I finally got to clean tissue after peeling seven layers, but it looks like the basal plate may be affected as well. I can't tell for sure. The bulb lost about a quarter of it's size. Is this worth complaining about?

Your bulbs look great!! I don't know why sellers store these bulbs in plastic bags, as even with holes plastic tends to promote sweating and the bulbs tend to rot. Paper bags are always better.

As for your bulb in question, unless you can determine that the basal plate has in fact actually started to rot, I (personally) wouldn't bother to complain, but be sure. Cut slightly into the basal plate where you feel there may be rot and you should be able to tell if it goes way into the bulb. If there is a bit of rot on one side you can always cut it away and the bulb should be OK. If the rot on the basal plate looks like it's going way in and you feel you deserve another bulb, document it well with pictures . I lost one of my coveted Royal Colors bulbs Cirque du Soleil to basal plate rot but there wasn't anything I could do about it as they had sold out.

As for the peeling of 3 layers, the buds inside the bulb will still bloom, you will just have a smaller bulb which is really of no consequence.

The choice is yours but all in all you have a great lot of bulbs there with viable roots no less!! Enjoy!!

Thanks Donna. I had another look at the rotted Barbados this morning, and I think it's going to be OK. I scraped off some rot from the basal plate and was able to get to clean tissue in about half an inch. Dusted it and will let it dry before potting. I'm sorry to have lost 7 layers off the bulb, but like you said it's not a huge deal. My bulbs always put in a lot of size in the summer, so this only sets it back a little.

I haven't even received my October ordered bulbs from Royal Colors yet. Plus there is nothing that interests me in their additional offerings really. They are selling Swan Lake for $14.70 for 1 bulb? You can get Swan Lake from the grower 3 bulbs for $7.00!

I was wondering whether it's the same Swan Lake because they don't even tell that's a Sonatini. But they're using the picture of White Rascal from the Sonatini site...
