Sun and snow weather damage

I live in Michigan and I would love to have this door, but the sun has a direct hit in the summer for 4 hours on the door. My question is does the wood gets damaged from the sun effect and dose this kind of door need regular maintenance?

Ghada, any door with a wood finish will eventually fade and will need to be refinished. My doors are finished with an oil based stain and a solvent based polyurethane, so it has the best finish available on the doors to prevent sun damage, but eventually they will require maintenance. 4 hours of sun is not excessive.

Water is a bigger problem for wood doors than sun, so protecting the doors from water is more critical.

I ship a lot of doors to Michigan (and I'm from Berkley, MI and grew up at 12 mile and Greenfield) and I have yet to have a warranty call of any kind so I'm 100% confident in the door holding up to your winter cold and summer humidity.

The best way to make a wood finished door look great forever is to refinish the door prior to the polyurathane peeling. Once the finish lightens up or fades a bit, lightly sand with a fine sandpaper, wipe off the dust, apply stain, and apply more polyurethane. By doing this, you'll have great looking doors forever.

    No we do not. Sorry.

If your weather exposure is not bad, this door holds up well in cold and hot climates. Do you have a good size roof over your current doors?
