Sweet kitchen!

I love blue and have it in my bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room and even a blue / gray in my basement - but not in my wood kitchen for the same reason you just said - it actually looks good with the maple, but doesn't say "kitchen". For some reason, sage green as mentioned above works while blue doesn't - which makes me sad too:(

I have opted for soft creamy beige - just enough color to help my white trim stand out, and I use blue as my accent color - towels, placemats, window treatment etc. I would put blue or blue patterned plates in the plate rack and screw some cup holder screws underneath and put some blue cups there. This is my plate rail - plates are not blue - just have some blue flowers on but it shows what I mean.
