Kitchen and dining set

Please help.....
I have no experience decorating and now have an entire home to do. The kitchen/dining area is to be done first but I have no idea what color dining set to purchase. I've included pictures of part of the kitchen and backsplash but I'm lost

congratulations!! beautiful new home! what style do you like? will you want counter stools? or are they more bar height? also how big is the room? is there a light fixture? how many people would you like to seat? is this the only dining area? do you have any other pictures of the room? do you want a rug?

We plan on getting stools. Just two though. I'm sure if we even have a style. We have large holiday dinners but it's only four of us on a daily basis. I was thinking of getting something with a leaf so the table can be extended

The dining area is fairly large and right now has nothing in it at all.

well there are infinite possibilities since your room is large, I would search dining and save pictures of dining areas you love, looking at your ideabooks it seems you like color. I would find a table you love add chairs and a rug with lots of fun colors.

you could search Houzz for a designer in your area and he/she could get you on the right track, it would be worth the fee and they usually get discounts

We have two grandchildren that visit so I'm not thinking about having a rug in there. Not just yet.
As for style I meant to say I have none lol.

Thank you very much. I was thinking it all had to tie into the kitchen colors. I'm actually looking into a decorating company right now

oh good. your kitchen is very neutral, you just need to find things you love. a designer can you lead you down the right path.
