most of my pillows have down and feathers in them. they are notorious for leaking over time. i zip them into all cotton protectors, when they finally spill too much? that becomes the cover. they are then covered by a cotton pillowcase, this gets washed regularly.

Both! And we vacuum our mattresses and pillows for added cleanliness.

I use both. Quilted zipped pillow protectors plus a pillow case I change every week..you need both to protect your pillows anyways !

Am I different? Use a zippered pillow protector and 2 pillow cases. That's how my mom did it and I have done for many many years.

don't worry bhind, we are all a little or even a lot different. not sure why you use 2 pillow cases, but unless you think it is too much work, would not worry about it. my mom used pillow cases only, not sure she knew about protectors. i find them cheap. i use one or more protectors, depending on if my pillow has split open yet or not. but i never use more than one case.
