Basement Laundry Room conversion - What about the Ceiling/Floor?

Hi everyone - This space will be converted into a bright white laundry area (14' x 11') this winter. The hallway (pictured center) leads to an unfinished wine cellar.

The reason for this post is to ask if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to treat/finish the ceiling which is on average 7 feet high? There is ductwork and plumbing to contend with which we may need intermittent access to. My husband is suggesting an architectural drop ceiling. Any other ideas or manufacturer names appreciated.

Any thoughts on the cement floor would we welcomed too. I have a drain centered in the space (out of picture), a sump pump along wall which we can disguise with cabinetry and a below grade ejection pit which will be another challenge to disguise and work around. Check to see if building codes requires a certain ceiling height in this area. (Scott McI. on "income Property" brings that up some times.) The floor could be stained light and polished concrete.

Drop ceiling if permitted. Carpet tiles or large click-together tiles for the floor. Keep stored items off the floor.

I don't know if you can get a click together floor in this space. There could be a floor drain somewhere. You have pips driving into the concrete which could indicate problems with a click together or planked style floor.

Finished concrete or texture epoxy would be a great idea. If you need to save some cash on this one, you can use sheet vinyl or sheet lino to get this to work.

Ceiling should be covered with appropriate drywall. Leaving it exposed is pretty nasty. The open door indicates you do NOT have much head room in this space. The thinnest floors possible + the thinnest covering on the ceiling possible are the ways to go. Epoxy is thinner than vinyl. Just a little FYI.
