Frosty the Snowman has arrived! Here it's the beginning of weed sprouting time. :-(

They look weirdly beautiful to me...

But then again I dont have to cope with the results.. I'm guessing the blooms would be toast after that, but how do the leaves fare? ...do you have to trim them off and put the rose to bed for winter or does the bush keep going until it snows?

Sorry if this seems odd, but I pretty much never see frost at all, unless its a really cold early spring, and then its more the results of frost, as the actual frost is an overnight thing thats melted off by the time the sun comes up..

Curdle, this is a signal for me that my rose season is over but I may still get a few roses, depending on the temps. I saw 32 degrees this morning with another hard frost. The colder weather and the shorter days help the bushes go dormant. Eventually, most leaves will drop, but not immediately. I do consider it a treat when I can capture the beauty of frost-kissed roses with the camera at the end of the season!

Oh my! Love the frosty roses. They look soooo pretty!!! Wish I had some to get frosted but the stinkin deer invaded and has wiped me out. More fencing goes up tomorrow so hoping next year I can have a whole year deer free! Thanks for sharing your frosty beauties'!!
