Looking for feedback on my living room interior

I just moved into my new place and did my best buying matching furniture (West Elm, Bludot) and decorating the living room. Now I'm looking for feedback to further improve this room. Keep in mind this is a rental, so I can't make drastic changes (like paint a wall black). I'm already stretching it by having replaced the chandelier.

Type of feedback I'm looking for:

- What should I remove/replace? What is out of place?
- What should I add?

I love your choices but suggest you do a little rearranging. Start by moving the floor lamp to the right of the sofa.. Then moving that side table next to the chair so there is a place to set a drink. Also pull the sofa up to the rug so that the sofa isn't backed all the way up to the wall. All the furniture would be better looking if it could float in the room if there is room. The coffee table should be no more than 20" from the front edge of the sofa. I would use the ball floor light in another room. You have the makings for a great modern room.

I would like to see some art and a few things in color like a couple of pillows in colors from the art and too many little tables in the space and I would do a noguchi coffee table in the space the little round one serves no purpose

Looks great to me, I second Patricia in saying it needs some finishing touches and that's all. Some art and some cushions/throws. Maybe a plant would be nice in ceramic pot that is evocative of the rest of your style.

Really, really nice room.

The chair, who is that by? Reminds me of Plycraft stuff.

gorgeous! I like what you've done with the room so far. i love the amount of light you get in the space as well as the tall windows. i would get a larger rug (with a pattern perhaps, similar color as the one already have) I would love to see drapes in pattern fabric as they always frame out the windows beautifully. since it's a rental, you might be able to use Command hooks to for your drapes...If you can't do drapes, you can put some artwork on the walls (use command hooks) I see that you like minimal clean lines so maybe a black and white print would be good your space. larger coffee table (not round since you already have other round tables in the room)

Very nice space. I want to reinforce some comments above. Tripod light to right corner and ball light to right away from chair, giving some glow to that side of the room. Small black light just doesn't work. It is too low. I would change the rug, if you can. A little too much gray. You can still be "subtle" if that is your preference, but maybe a offwhite with thin gray stripes or hex pattern. Some pattern, but not much. Your coffee table might work better as an end table. You would benefit from 3 small tables clustered for coffee table, but then they could pull away for parties, and individual seating. Simple look, but functional. The windows need some light control I would bet. You might be able to find some white shutter panels and lean them against windows? Not sure if these open or not, but I would want a bit more privacy and I'm not a big fan of drapes in every situation. I like the big plantation shutters. Might try looking at local architectural antique places and you might find some interesting shapes and sizes that could be worked together. So have fun! You have a really good start. Despite our many suggestions!

Thank you everyone for your valuable feedback. The interesting thing is that most of you say the same: Less little side tables, some art work at the walls etc.

please go with original art, you can buy local or etsy or saatchiart. i have no saatchi's currently, but here are some etsy samples, there are many that are less then prints.

i would put one of the top two on the chair. then put second 2 on one side of couch, other 2 on opposite side. make sure that on the first 2 one is about 20" and the other is about 16"

@havingfun Not really. The West Elm couch didn't come with a specific ottoman. I'm thinking of getting this yellow one to bring some color in the room:

The yellow ottoman isn't really useful as a true "ottoman". It is more a "pouf" and is for looks more than functional value. Need something more "firm" and possibly more able to take wear of shoes, etc. Could be a different texture, but the yellow one is not a winner IMO. I like the yellow and that is a big trend for accents in design right now, but kind of hard to find just the right yellow. Get your rug first, then you can go for the ottoman look.
