We are going to put a carpet stair runner down our stairs (to cut down on noise and make it safer for our kids). The carpet will be very light cream/beige color--same as in all the bedrooms. My question is: Where should it be placed on the steps??? As you can tell from the pictures, it's walled in on two sides for a portion, open on one side and walled in on the other side, and then open on both sides at the bottom. Please help! I just don't want it to look weird.
