Trying to decide on the colors of the cabinets and the hardware

I am getting ready to redo my kitchen and have already decided on a shaker style door in either White or a Warm Grey. I have picked out a white granite with both colors in it and Satin Gold hardware, faucet and lighting. As a matter of fact, I just purchased this awesome faucet.

The appliances will all be in stainless or if I can afford it, integrated. I also have a really awesome butcherblock and metal island that I have already bought. I am putting in some open shelves in reclaimed wood and brass which I am having built. I will be bringing the wood floors that are in the rest of the house into the kitchen as well. What I really need help deciding on are the cabinets and hardware so I can get them ordered. I kind of fell in love with these knobs at Home Depot.

So I was thinking of putting them on the upper cabinets only. And then I would put these pulls on the lower doors...

But I'm not sure I like them on the drawers too. So then, I thought about adding in a cup pull for the drawer and found this one that I really like.

I like the idea of not being traditional with mixing up the styles yet using relatively traditional finishes. My house is very much a mash up of rustic industrial chic and french farmhouse. So, what are your thoughts? Here are some of my mood images to give you a better feel of my style.

I also really dig this kitchen, but I don't think I want to go all out with the Navy in my smaller space. So just look at the feel of the kitchen and think about it in white.

BTW, my living room which is now open to the kitchen is in grey, warm dark wood, navy, cognac brown and cream with gold and pewter accents.

Thank you everyone! @Flo Mangan, I never thought about the cup pulls being an issue with wet hands or nails. Thank you for pointing that out. I also hadn't thought about how I actually open a drawer until it was mentioned. So I tried it and I always open from the top! Guess that means I'm nixing the cup pulls. I still like the idea of mixing the pulls and the knobs, which i really do love. Any ideas on doing knobs only on the top cabinets as "bling" and then the pulls for all drawers and doors in the lower cabinets? Also, I am attaching a picture of my island so you all can see what I mean.

I have a local metal artist adding depth to the bottom on one side so it will be flush to that side but still be pushed back on the other side so stools can fit underneath. I'm seriously considering painting the metal part the same satin brass to match my hardware but am on the fence. I really like the rustic feel of it as it is now.

I'm also leaning toward the grey for the cabinets. I was always a white kitchen so it's a step out for me to go with grey. As for wall paint I will be doing a darker Greige in the livingroom and kitchen, which are open to each other and share walls.

I love your style for the kitchen - the knobs are amazing!! I personally prefer knobs on doors and pulls on drawers as shown in the first photo you posted. If you go that route I think your first choice of pulls looks perfect with the knobs. Can you order the pulls in different lengths to fit your drawer sizes? Also with the cup pull - would you mind always having to grab from under the pull to open the drawer rather than from above like you would with a traditional pull? For the cabinet color - will you be painting your walls? I currently have white shaker style cabinets in my kitchen and I feel it is very transitional in style. In a warm gray I feel it would fit more the mood you are looking for?? Everything sounds fabulous! Good luck!

The only thing I would not recommend is the "cup" pulls. Especially, if you have nails. Nail busters!! Wet fingers slip off, just not convenient, IMO. I prefer the long handles, but I would look for a simpler design since the knobs you have are very distinctive. Keep them the "show". But really, a matter of personal choice so go for it. I think I might go Navy for the base of island, but I didn't quite understand the wood and metal?? Like bringing some of that color from your adjoining room into your kitchen?

Nix the cup pull and the other pull. You need something simpler. Given given your faucet and that knob......this could be very cool : ) ( link) Enough to acknowledge the curve, and not glaringly so. Potentially awesome. That said, a shaker door is pretty darn timeless in white or gray; there's really nothing wrong with your first bar pull, used on all drawers AND upper doors as well. So...... be sure on the navy knob is my point. But if in love, see the link below. Go back and look at your inspiration photos, ....... "kick arse", but timeless : ) so just be certain on the navy/brass knob. Might be a bit more " glitzglam" than you truly want.

Your cabinet hardware should match the faucet finish, I really like the knob you selected. Also, I think cup pulls look great in kitchens.
