As usual the wrong question is asked. All of the foods we eat today are from genetically modified plants. The question should be are Genetically Engineered crops worth the costs, and the answer is they are not.

As Sandra Merrill points out in a well written article that appeared in Fine Gardening magazine in the April, 2014 issue Genetically Modified organisms are Natural
Mutations, Open pollinated reselections, traditional hybrids, and those Genetically Engineered by rDNA, chemical or radiation induced mutations, Protoplast fusions.

H. Kuska comment: what about health considerations? As an example when the GMO is designed to utilize glyphosate, is it worth it to the farmer (and society) to risk long term health problems?
