Israeli varieties start blooming.

The first of my order begins to bloom Ruby star.

I can not accurately convey the color! It is dark and velvety.

Despite the confusion, we get what we want))

    Elena,

Just gorgeous flowers!! Ruby Star is one of my favorites of the Israeli bulbs, unique and stunning!! Too bad it's not available to everyone, for sure, it is one that belongs in everyone's collection!!

She won't set seeds but occasionally someone is able to use her pollen on someone else, I have never had any luck but I stopped trying after numerous tries but who knows!!?

One year I had two bulbs blooming simultaneously with 2 scapes each and I pollinated all 16 flowers and got nothing so now I just admire her legs hanging down with her fluffy slippers of pollen, part of her charm.

    Elena,

Your Pink Flush is beautiful! I have one from a few years ago and it has never bloomed. Big healthy bulb but no flowers. Well, maybe this year.

I also thought from the stock pictures, that Pink Flush was a darker more saturated pink, I've never seen one actually in bloom in person before!☺☺

Thank you Donna! The color is really a bit richer, it was cloudy and had to take pictures with the flash.

As I have information of my friends that the Israeli varieties it is difficult to get to bloom . In my opinion this is possible due to the difference in content. The site of the company stated that the bulbs are grown in soilless medium, heated environment. Apparently so the bulbs of these varieties is difficult adaptation in soil substrate.

    Aulicum-X-Ruby-Stare. For more than a month ...

Other Israeli varieties not pollinated ....yet))but they left a lot of pollen.

Aulicum X Ruby Stare, matured for two months and almost a week to germinate majority. The embryo inside was uneven. I know the seeds of Aulikum their smooth embryo - this is different .
