Christmas Tree skirt finished

I have wanted to make a quilted tree skirt for some time, so this weekend I pulled out my stash and put this together. I finished sewing the binding today ... who would have thought that such a small project takes over 200" of binding!!!?? Anyway, I am looking forward to putting up our tree later this week with the new skirt.

    I was looking at pictures of tree skirts that would be easy and quick and saw this pattern: Tree skirt inspiration picture

    Then I was trying to figure out the dimensions that would work for the tree and found this pattern: Tree block pattern

    Because the tree was a 10" block - not 12", it was really pretty easy to change the corner blocks to make it a 10" block using 2-1/2" squares and made it a 25 square block. I added 3 buttons on the slit opening to hold it together once it goes around the tree. All of the fabrics were in my stash and it hardly made a dent!
