Are you quilting this weekend? Dec. 2-4

I have been busy Christmas shopping on-line this week. Last night I realized that I forgot to write down what I had ordered for the babies and couldn't remember who was getting what! With DD's help, I think I have figured it out. They all have lists on Amazon but once something is ordered it disappears from their list. I think I am finished except for a few stocking stuffers.

We are watching Sami this afternoon so mommy can have lunch and day out shopping with a friend.

My sewing plans for this weekend are to work on clue 2 of the mystery quilt. I printed it out as soon as I got up this morning. I have my strips cut and have made about 5 of the pieces. I have a die for my Go but am using the tri-recs tools instead.

Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

Tomorrow morning we take Sami (our Sami is a cat, Linda LOL) for her post-adoption follow up vet visit. She's recovered from her respiratory infection and is a bundle of sassy energy, tearing all over the house and eating like a horse. I told DH that it will probably be quite a bit harder to get her in the cat carrier tomorrow than it was for the trip to the emergency vet!

We are performing in two concerts at church tomorrow and one on Sunday. In between I need to do laundry and some other chores.

But, I am going to try to squeeze in some sewing time!

I will work on the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt this weekend. I finished a gift and have nothing else in line so I might as well try to keep the mystery going without getting behind. I should be working outside but hate cleaning up garden for winter.

I had company for dinner last night and have a fostering Christmas breakfast this morning. The only chores for this weekend are shampoo the carpet (small area), clean the family room and put up the family tree. Everything else is decorated. Then I plan on sewing for Christmas, an apron and a lap quilt. And maybe figure out why the Christmas lights don't work outside.

After meeting you, Sharon, I can see why your relatives don't want to leave...you're too much fun.

I'm hoping to decorate Christmas this weekend, plus am continuing work on my SCRAPPY Double Wedding Ring quilt. I blew leaves in the front yard (again) yesterday, but still have to do the backyard and then pick up as many piles as I can fit in our cans.

Today is also 2 local Christmas parades, our county's one this afternoon, and the city's is tonight. May try to hit one of those.

Not sure if I will get in the sewing room this weekend or not. I haven't even started the Bonnie Hunter mystery. I am just saving the clues for later. Work has been crazy and I have to travel to Dallas Tuesday and do not come home until Saturday. Hopefully after the first of the year everything will calm down for me. :)

I am in the middle of making my meat pies. (We had a thread on this last year). Earlier this week, I did cherry, apple and pecan pies.

sewing will take a backseat but I am cross stitching a Christmas stocking.

Jen, I empathize with the leaf blowing. DH rakes the lawn area but Doesnt do the gardens, so out comes the blower and I do those. 4 times so far. Then he bags them for pickup. Getting too old for this but he refuses to hire anyone. Grrr!!

We went to look at Christmas lights last night with friends. I need to do some shopping today, then a Christmas party, and on to a dinner theater tonight. Phew. Busy! I will make it to the fabric store to pick up some backing fabrics and may get a change to stitch a little tomorrow afternoon. It is getting to be a busy time of year!

Bev, When my cousins arrived, their GPS got them to the end of our road (2 miles away) and said they would have to exit the vehicle and walk the rest of the way. Mind you, our road used to be the major highway down the coastline. This kind of stuff is what happens when they are around, so you can imagine the kind of fun we're having. lol

I love the GPS stories. I finished quilting the latest tee shirt quilt, got it trimmed and binding sewn to the back. Was going to get the binding sewn down, but diverticulitis decided to flair up and I just don't feel like it.

We decided that after several years of not putting out every Christmas decoration that poor DH drags out of the attic, some things need to go. We wound up completely emptying 10 bins! (Now I have some to store more sewing stuff in!) Still haven't put up the tree, not ready yet, but did put out a few things. So I did some FQM this weekend but not much. Gardening chores are finally starting to slow down so I won't have that excuse. I REALLY want to finish this thing and move ON. So I've done some this morning but really need to go to the grocery store. Maybe later on today. I promise I'll post a photo when done and I think I've decided who to gift it to. It's a man so hope he appreciates it but since it's a gift I have to cut the ties emotionally and not think about it anymore regardless of the reaction.
