Hi Tyler San Diego don't have what I would cold wether I would pot up and keep on heat pad

Thank you, Roger. We've had a few cold nights here over the past couple of weeks down to the high 40's but it warms up in the day time to at least the high 60's.

I don't want to over pot so I was thinking to use a 4" pot. Any watering suggestions? Water lightly when potted up and lightly afterwards only when dry?

I agree with Roger. I've had unpotted hanging adeniums do this too. But since all my heat pads were occupied, I just left them alone to do whatever they wanted. As long as you have bottom heating, I'd pot it up too, if it was my plant. Make sure your potting material is moist but not wet, then pot it up. I don't know how big your plant is but pick a pot that is just big enough to contain the roots. Once potted, you'll notice that because indoor humidity tends to be low in winter and your plant will be on a hot surface, the substrate will dry out sooner than you expect. Do it by weight---if it feels really light, count two days then water.

The other one that I had to amputate seems to be doing ok, considering. No signs of new growth. Just hanging.

The 3rd one that was part of the same shipment that I trimmed the tip rot off of seems to be doing ok. That one I potted up right away, but it hasn't decided to push out any new growth yet. Inside over night and outside in warm, bright direct sunlight during the day. I feel the caudex a few times a week to check for squshiness. So far so good.
