I've had Friendship for a few months now.

Unfortunately, the plant has only declined since I've had it.

I finally have repotted the plant with fresh soil ... and I'm hoping that will make a difference.

If there's no change, I'm going to pull a leaf or two and try to start it all over again.

That's what happened to my Modesty. I used a leaf and got three babies. I posted in another thread about no blooms but I am happy to say I have blooms on two of the plants and one opened! At least I think it is Modesty. It was labeled such at a Fresh Market up in Birmingham a while ago.

Yep ... that's Modesty. Glad to see that you're getting bloom now ...

I grow Romance. It is a slow grower for me. I had a leaf of Friendship that took awhile to produce. The young plant also grew at a snail's pace & I eventually lost it along the way. I would definetly look for adult plants of these if I wished to begin again. Enclosing a picture of my Romance. It took some time getting to this stage.

My experience is that Modesty is slow also. Thanks for the confirmation, aegis!

I recently received Modesty it came in bloom but I really like the foliage regardless. Fortunately Selective Gardeners sends them a large size and in bloom. But I think I'll try Romance and hold off on Friendship, another thought is Affection? I'm trying to add variegated foliage to my collection. Since hubby is giving me extra spending $ I was thinking of trying Espicias which are in the African Violet family but I read they may be harder to manage. Hey I have to go all out though if I can! Thanks for the insight everyone!

Indeed they're sensitive to watering some more than others. A few pots I received that I feel work well are self watering. It also prevents wetting the leaves. Otherwise I try to be careful but unfortunately I killed a few plants because of overwatering.

Ahhhh, love seeing color pix! I also love O. Modesty. And all of the others! And yes....some are more tempermental than others. Rosie
