For landscaping, a simple row of white Iceberg roses can be combined with a front edging of dwarf or full height blue or white agapanthus, if you have a south, east, or west facing front of the house. January is bare root time for roses in southern California. Agapanthus are available all year. You'll need a vast amount of compost to revive the soil in the planting bed now that the old shrubs are gone. Make it 6 inches deep, add all purpose fertilizer, then dig it in.

For paint, try the online Sherwin Williams paint visualizer. It's quick and easy. Start with the hardscape colors (terracotta colored bricks) and the roof (What color is it?). The fascia board is usually painted the same color as the roof. In person, you can match the terracotta brick color to a paint chip, then go two shades up for a good wall color, and two shades down for a trim color in the same color family. Or try some warm beiges or warm off whites (not too bright or stark).

This is a good color combination with terracotta colors like your bricks, very similar to what you have now, but with green trim, and clearer wall paint.
