I added a picture it may looks wide but there is the sofa and I actually tried chairs but the one I have we're too bulky it's in my old discussion if you wanna see it under the same name but no question marks

Think of things on your nice table in the shape of a pyramid it all looks square at the moment

It's funny. Really as your dilemma was asking about the frames and we all seem to be telling you what and how you should place things on your little table so it just goes to show that one dilemma can lead to another one not even you had thought of

Don't like it. Make it fun. Don't just place things on table. Keep clock but angle on side. Lamp behind it. A couple of very small books. That's all. Remove pic on each side. Replace with one on the side tall palm. Mirror doesn't work. Get a larger round one check Z Galliers on line for ideas. Make it the focal point.

Add bushy plant under table to hid cords.

I like lamp without shade. Take the two pic and put together one on top of other place low next to table.

Lol don't just place things on a table it took me a week to think that one up lol I change it often this was last weeks placement lol

I would lower the mirror and raise the pictures.I might also try moving the pictures closer.Remove clock and add a plant.You could also use two candle stick or lamps with smaller shades or try one and keep candles .The lamp seems heavy on narrow table.

Back to the drawing board for me then lol

Don't give up. Just play with it. Take a picture, sometimes the eye can see things in picture that you don't see just looking at it.

Latifeh now you have a new dilemma the cords some people don't mind them showing. Sorry to say I am one of them that hates them showing but really didn't want to add to your dilemma

Decorating also organising rooms in my case is not a chore so to speak it is fun and if you have had a laugh that's good as the doctor always says its good for you lots more people need to do it and to think your post started out with a dilemma at the end of the day if you like what you have and how you have placed them on your table then that's good yes it's nice to have other people's thoughts on this and have some fun along the way and to advise people regarding dilemmas in a kind and caring way as after all its their personal belongings that for all we know may have sentimental value

There are a lot of rectangles in your space. What if you eliminated the two frames on either side of the mirror, moved the mirror down 3 or 4 inches; Moved the sconces to flank the mirror and lastly, your lamp is too tall. Just a few ideas. I didn't read what you had before...this comment is based on this photo that you posted.

With the current table situation I agree with travisinteriors , a round mirror would look really nice. also to remove the frames and sconces would probably be good.

how about using the sideboard/ chest from your accessories pictures instead, and use the existing picture above it or a round mirror...

I see you tried your table arrangement 3 ways. The table looks best with two lamps and the crystal bowl. I appears to be a foyer set up, which should be formal. The symmetric balance on this table is formal, plus the lamps visually over lap the mirror frame which visually blends and forces your eye to first see the entire table first and then look at individual elements. Also with only one light the lighting alone looks unbalanced-one side light-one side dark. As I see it you have two options. Take down the framed sconces dangling in mid air on either side, or get a table long enough to fit under the mirror AND sconces. If the sconces are electric and work then the lamps should be removed all together. They are redundant. My thoughts for what they are worth. Bill

Hide the cords. Whatever arrangement you decide upon will get attention drawn away from it and onto the ugly cords. Ugh. Cord management is always a part of my design consideration. Boring, I know, but necessary. Lol.

Hi Latifeh. This might help you create a striking impression in your hallway. Think of some other items that you already have to put in your display-a special picture or painting, book(s), a sculpture, etc. Unfortunately, I don't think that putting a piece of your wonderful glassware collection in would work., Being transparent, it would disappear into whatever is behind it. Shop your house & see what kind of objects you can find. An interesting branch from your yard or maybe an unusual shaped piece of driftwood, that you brought back from the seashore. These actually have a sculptural quality, as well. When you can, use what you already have. A special picture is always nice. And book(s) piled up a little can be used by themselves or as a pedestal for something else, like a great box or basket.

Consider the the rule of 3 in your table- scape because odd numbers are generally more interesting in compositions. But if, say, you had a trio of slim candlesticks that you wanted to use, group them tightly & they'll be perceived as one unit.

Vary the shapes, sizes, textures & positions of the pieces you decide to use. Mix something antique ( your beautiful clock, maybe?) with something more modern. Do you change out your decor with the seasons? Put a grouping together with this as a guideline.

I agree with Gantt'sDecorating about the lamp(s) overlapping the mirror. The eye should have sort of an easy transition between the mirror and the table & overlapping connects the two. I think a round mirror is O.K.. But I think a rectangular one would work, too- it just needs to be somewhat wider than what's there now. The mirror & the tabletop should be almost the same width. Can also work just fine if the mirror is only a tiny bit narrower than the table. I also think, like pearlmelba , that you should aim for a pyramid shaped look. And pyramids are never symmetrical.

Not sure about the sconces yet. For the time being take them down, along with the frames. You might be able to paint the cords the same color as your walls, if need be. And you can always put a tall basket or something under the table to help hide the cords.

@latifeh, I avoided reading the entire thread ... because it was getting mighty confusing ! To answer your question, which of the three arrangements at the beginning of this post was the best ? I think the third pic is the most balanced. I'd suggest adding something, on the floor, on either side of the table , below the framed sconces. Perhaps matching tall square vases (a little over half the height of the table) in which you might put dried grasses of some kind. Set the vases so that they are sitting quite close to the table legs and arrange your grasses so that they reach almost to table top height and then 'spill' towards the centre of the framed sconces. At this point your composition would be complete, with better balance below. ..... though I'm pretty sure the arrangement you created has long gone, I liked the simple formality of it ... (I agree re your needing to hide the lamp cables, too.) Good luck with whatever you're actually doing right now.

To fellow houzzers thank you so much again I hope you like the new and hopefully the last look but as I said from the beginning I don't wanna buy any new stuff I have enough to open a store about the cords I hate them more than you do but if you notice in the pictures there is a bar at the bottom so kind of impossible to put any thing it's too tight behind the bar if you can let me know ASAP because all the old stuff still on the floor last thing to be honest I love the new look tanks again

If you love it, that's all that counts ! .. I liked the arrangement as you had it (it fitted the slightly busier 'collector's' look that seems to be your personal style. :-) I like the peep into your cozy looking living room, too !
