Can't tell from the pictures, but it may be too small for the dining room table. Do you need an entry light?

No, we have an entry light. It's definitely smaller then the light we had hanging over this table in our old house...and I think I may add the leaf into the table so I should probably look for something larger

Just what I was thinking, Only a little lower.

Need larger one and more sophisticated look for your lovely dining table. Your table looks pretty wide so you can probably go at least 30" round or do a more rectangular shape. However with the ceiling treatment, I believe, round is the answer. Tip: The bottom of the chandelier should be about 30-33" from the top of the table. That ceiling looks like is it 8' so the height of the chandelier probably needs to stay around 24", so 24" high by 30 wide/round would probably be about right just eyeballing it from your picture. You would have to verify those measurements. I figured your table is about 30" high, plus another 30 from table top to bottom of chandelier, then about a 12" chain drop from ceiling and you are left with about 24". Does that make sense? Here is one I think would be nice for your room.

It has some bling but not too much, round drum shade, nice transitional lines like your table and chairs. It might be too high, so measuring is important, but something along these lines would look very nice in your space I believe. The finish on this is nice too.

I played around with a composite picture for you so you could visualize some "views" of your lovely room. Just guessing at what you might like, but the lamps on the buffet are two short so I put, taller ones on the buffet, put the chandelier in and I noticed a planter pot in the far right corner, so I put a stand of green and black bamboo in there for you! You could use a rug too, but I thought I would get some feedback from you first. I also put a group of 4 prints over the buffet with brown and sepia tones to go with the walls and the wood pieces. The prints have a line of soft gold on the inside edge of the frame which ties in the chandelier a bit. The lamps are in tones of the other pieces as well. But those could be many different looks. See what you think!

Thought I would put that one in for you from Margo. I couldn't turn it sideways, which would be what I would do and with the width of your table, I kinda think the round might be better shape for this table? Also this fixture hangs from posts, so you would have to make sure you could get extensions. Could you give us the height of the ceiling above the table please? I notice it is a tray so it bumps up probably 6-8" from the rest which means you have a bit more room for a taller chandelier if that is your choice. I think the one Margo posted also comes in a round so that is an option as well.

As an aside, are you planning to put shutters at the high windows? Is that a window beside the buffet? Perhaps that could have a drape?

Here is mock up with the "bubble" chandelier in the "round shape".

Put more colorful "watery" art over buffet, white orchid on buffet, tall buffet lamps and clear glass/mercury glass accessories on table. Also put Fiddle Fig in pot in the corner! Enjoy!

OK Flo- now I find I like the round bubble light best;) Paired with water art and acrylic or glass is beautiful. I also agree with plantation shutters on those windows Katek009. Then you could carry over a splash of blue into the living room rug;)

I like your art. What I think is you need larger lamps. Like Flo showed.

Glad my humble mock ups help with visualization. I think you need brighter more "appetizing" color in the dining room, which is why I selected something with what I call "water color", blues, aquas, greens. Then you can pick up some of that color in a rug. So I would find the art you like best FIRST. Art is the hardest to find, and very personal. Etsy.com is a good site to find some original art that is interesting and not "cookie cutter-you can find this in any Pier 1 type look". You have a sophisticated palette I believe and so, find that perfect piece of art first. The size of the one you posted is OK. But slimmer, taller lamps are in order. Those lamps look at little more like bedroom lamps? Too short for overall space and look on buffet. Of course, if you want you can go more monochromatic but the room looks like it needs some boost of color. Art and rug will help that along. What do you think of the round "bubble" chandelier? Lots of great rugs out there, so once art is selected, then we can work on rug. But, if you choose something with the blues and greens I might have a couple you could consider.

Depending on your art, something like this would be interesting. It has color but it is kind of subtle and it is modern, not traditional in style, which goes with your dining set.

btw, I would definitely do shutters as close to your trim color as possible, so that is one block of color that will act as a backdrop to the chandelier. You can do drapes on the window easily, with just two panels in a silk that works with your color palette. Probably would keep that close to color of walls for a more subdued look. Just depends on what you like style wise in spaces.

I see you have two windows, so we need drapery that compliments both dining and living room and since living room looks monochromatic I would keep that going and put the color in the art and rug. Probably go a little more subtle on the rug and then very distinctive color on the art. I will look for a few choice for you.

Here is an alternative to the blues, since it looks like you lean toward more monochromatic looks. It is really a beautiful piece and brings some gold leaf into your space. With this piece, the rug would also be subtle tones of perhaps taupe/and maybe some black and tan from your chairs?

OK, I see you like the monochromatic look. Great. I do like the gold pieces in the art and they can be repeated on your table and in buffet lamps, etc. This gives you the details on this piece of art so if you wish to get it you will have the contact info, etc.

You will have to measure and make sure it will work on your wall space above the buffet. It is a great piece though and the price is quite reasonable.
