My coldest min/max down here read 40f this morning.

I was in the 35f range. Banana leafs don't like that range. Wouldn't you know the largest leafed of garden plants is the most sensitive to anything under 38 or so. Then again,they were filled with water from all the winter rains.

Yum, ice cream bananas. I grew those and they were TASTY. They loved the reflected heat of the wall. Ripe bananas that you just picked are so much better than store bananas ripened by gas on the way across the ocean. My problem was what to do with the finished stalks and they were heavy. I think the young banana leaves are beautiful too.

I didn't have any plants that got too cold. I am hoping for a little more for my weeping Santa Rosa plum.

I'm looking to plant a SRP someplace in my yard. Store bought plums are so bad. All the plum variety's sold at stores are bland or bland and mealy.

The worst is over from the cold..but low 40's doesn't feel much warmer then mid 30's to me. Good thing plants are different.
