Both wall hangings are beautiful, Vasu. I'm particularly drawn to the first one, although I love the subtle, "dusty" colors of the second one. Good job getting them finished by Christmas. There will be some happy recipients in your circle of family/friends.

Thank you everyone. Both were inspired by pics I saw on Pinterest. The second is a traditional block called 54-40 or fight. I don't know the pattern for the first one. I figured it out after I stared at it for a while. Make big HSTs with one light and one dark layer cake. Stack up two of them and make two vertical cuts. Swap the middle piece and sew back. You may call it disappearing HSTs. I arranged the HSTs in different orientations to give that random look.

I'm keeping them both. Finished in time to put them up before the big Christmas party!
