I live in San Diego. Weather recently has been cool and wet. I noticed my young tree leaves turn brown and start dropping. Is it the rain? Cold ? Combination of both or something else? .. Do I need to act on this condition ?

As seen in the photos, tree is close to a fence. It only gets the afternoon sun.
