Spike Watch Jan 2017 - Happy New Year!

I bought Mini Snowflake about a year ago on the recommendation of this forum. This year it's growing two spikes!

Little Stars is going to smell fantastic this year. New spikes popping out all over.

Yes, that's my fuzzy slipper.

Both of these were bag babies. Little Stars was the tiniest starter size and began blooming when it filled the 4" pot it's in now. I think I waited two years for the first bloom. Mini Snowflake was purchased last year in the 4" size, with two buds, so I had immediate flowers.

Happy new year to you. Spike watch is such fun! I must check my Little Stars, I'm hoping for blooms this season too.

Wow, your little stars is a beast! I hope you get lots of flowers. My bud watch is on, too! I've had these two orchids for 3-4 years ... it's taken me that long to figure out how to make them happy enough to bloom! Sedirea japonica has finally got a spike with 9 buds and counting, and the Masdevallia discoidea has one tiny little half-inch bud that's starting to get really purple for me! I'm not expecting more than the one... I nearly killed it on a 95 degree day last year. It's in much happier conditions now, grew a whole slew of new roots and leaves this summer, and has decided to grace me with one flower. I'll take it!

Left is Odontoglossum Stirbic bought last year, now reblooming for the first time for me.

Right is oncidium twinkle. I bought it in mid December with that spike on it. I don't see much change. How long does Twinkle take to bloom from a spike?

*Edit: I've tried to upload the pic 3 times from phone & pc. If I doesn't work this time, I give up*

Twinkles take roughly FOREVER to grow their spikes. Sometimes FOREVER AND A DAY. You are still very early in the stages ... each one of those little branches has to grow longer, and THEN you'll get buds.
