I agree, Fran, black is awful to work with, but it's often just what a quilt needs. I never thought of it as a nun's habit, but I understand. Going to parochial school is why i shy away from navy blue - the color of the uniform jumpers I wore for 8 years. I can't wait to see a photo of your quilt.

Black can be difficult to work with, but at the same time can add such drama to a quilt! Stick with it....it'll pay off in the end.

Funny post. Black sashing has really helped me with a quilt that I was unhappy with. The only problem now is it grew the quilt, then needed borders designed, then became queen size!
