Do you need the fireplace? If not, I might would it with a credenza for storage. The baby's stuff will add enough color. I'd work on creating a more subtle base.

For sure I'd skip a glass display anything for about 5 years...

I really like er612's suggestions. I would add that when baby begins walking, you might want to consider a round or oval shaped coffee table. Those sharp corners can be brutal.

I'm not sure if there's enough space for an accent chair. If there is, it will have to very petite. And then, what to do with Fido??? :-)

I'd like to see a media console/credenza underlining the TV. The current relationship between fireplace and TV isn't balanced.

I like your idea of a gallery wall, but worry it may look cluttered in a room of this size. Perhaps opt for a few of art prints (or origianals) attractively grouped instead. There may be another place for a gallery wall, such as in the entry hall.

Maybe sharing this design project of ours will help you with your dilemma. Perhaps think about adding a rug, some teal pillows, even white pillows with teal and orange, and a lighter coffee table (white).
