Bought and love this brown vellum side table but

want to find out if it's possible to replace the gloss finish with a satin or eggshell finish.? Can I use a 300 grit sand paper to take some of the shine away?

    Hi June,


    Glad to hear you like the table! The lacquer coat is not only for look, but protection
    of the vellum. Sanding the lacquer coat will reduce the protection
    against liquids, discoloration and delamination. I would suggest you overspray a matte clear coat on top of the existing finish. This should
    dull the look while not compromising the protective coat.
