Your choice. Either would look good. Red lends continuity; white brightens, your choice.

Just know that ALL BASEMENTS FLOOD. At one time or another. Laminate flooring will be ruined and will need to be replaced.

That being said, you can make the basement any color you want. You can match it or not. Depends on your decorating in the basement.

Kathi's right...we tiled ours for exactly this reason. Luckily, there is wood look tile.

Last summer, during the kitchen remodel, when our house was a disaster, we had a rain to end all rains and the sump pump died. Luckily we found it when the water level was at 3" or so. Who was measuring? Rented an awesome pump. Called all the troops. Moved everything out. Lost less than $1K worth of stuff. And because we found it so soon and our basement was so dry to begin with (good dehumidifier, worth its weight), the floor did not buckle, the drywall was not damaged and the baseboards were okay. Crisis averted!!

The moral is, plan for a flood starting with your flooring.
