AND REGARDING SIDE PANELS......HOW MUCH DEPTH ABOVE SLATS FOR MATTRESS TO SIT IN?

Hello,

The slats are all 3 inches apart. There are a total of 6 slats, all of which are 10 inches wide with a strong 2" (by 3/4" wide) t-beam supporting each for additional stability. There are 3 center support legs that touch the floor. It is one of the strongest bed support structures that I have seen.

The mattress sets into the side rails about 4.25"; that is, from the top of the slats to the top of the side rails is 4.25". (From the top of the slats to the top of the headboard is 32.5".)

Clearance from floor to the bottom of side rails: 5 inches
Floor to the top of bed slats: 7 inches
Recommended maximum mattress height: 14 inches
