Please help. My gas furnace is located in a special closet inside my living room and has recently been changed to a new one. I have a strange smell in the furnace closet and in my house (reminds me of a laundry detergent) whenever it turns itself on. I also have moved my electrical washer and dryer to a new location (with plumbing extended) inside the house and often have the smell of gas inside or around the dryer. I have called PG&E several times and they could not detect gas leak near the dryer. My husband thinks I am imagining stuff. But I know that I do smell these strange smells and was wondering if there is any connection between the two and what can cause it. Also, who would be the best to diagnose the problem and fix it? I appreciate any advice.
