Your pool must conform to the current swimming pool standards of depth, length of hopper and length of wading section in order to have a diving board or for it to be considered a diving type pool.

I'm overly familiar with the current pool you described. I've had many customers with this type of pool. When they were built in the early 60's to the early 70's, swimming pool standards for diving type pools did not exist.

You should contact a structural engineer familiar with pool construction. They would know the requirements.

Mine follows the current standard and shows it on a structural detail.

We've had many (many!) companies look at our pool and offer various suggestions (none of which sound great). One suggested the method you are doing but quoted us more than a new pool would cost. I am in NJ and have the same pool. I also would like to know who you are using.

I am in Southern California and we have a 12 foot diving pool that we want made to be around 5 feet at the deepest part. Do you know a ballpark figure that it would cost to have this done? I am just trying to figure that out before I start getting quotes. Thanks.
