We had bamboo in our previous house (thin striped). It got scratched by the dogs and because of the even pattern, it was very visible and difficult to repair. We now have pale oak with lots of variations in the wood and the scratches are much less visible. Otherwise I really liked the look of the bamboo, but would not do it again.
