PLEASE! Try angling the crib a bit across the corner and not directly in front of the window. A side wall even better if you can. I hope those are not blind cords I see........but they are!!! HUGE no no. Even if the child can not yet stand...do away with them now. Curtains also are not safe as they will be behind the crib as well and in easy grab reach. A cordless shade, a roman shade where you can totally hide the cord up and away. .....unless the crib can move.

Thanks Jan, yes they are cords but we've already ordered pieces to pull those up. Unfortunately we can't put the crib on any other wall but we're compliant with all regulations as we're adopting and have to have our home inspected. Thanks for the kind warnings!

Because the crib must stay there, I don't really think you can put up curtains.

I wouldn't use curtains. In less than 12 months they will be in the way of a crawling baby. Look for white cordless blackout shades with an interior mount. Can you put the crib where the dresser is and put the dresser in front of the window instead?

I have no idea why the crib needs to be in front of the window it is always a bad spot for a crib , babies learn to crawl up things very quickly and up and through a window would be my worst nightmare it is really best to not have anything they can crawl on near a window

I totally agree with Patricia. TRY A FLOAT across a corner, or trade with the dresser even if you lose some space. The room feels dim and dark even for a little boy. ....but safety first. Plus, you are blocking the little natural light in the space, and the blinds cut the light even more, .as will more fabric around the window. A nice tailored valance, with even a roller room darkening shade under? Some COLOR on the walls? : )

Why does the crib have to be there?

I would have totally said to do curtains as well...until my little girl just started crawling and pulling up on everything! Now I can just see her yanking with all of her weight on a drapery rod. I do think roman shades might be best or just leave the blinds with some sort of cord control. Congratulations on the upcoming adoption!
