yes it is a terra cotta color.

I like the cork floors. Instead of fighting the whole house of orange, work with it. I would set a palette of blue, orange and white. You have a great accent wall i the dining room, do a strong blue with some gray in in like a Dunn Edwards "sea reflections" #1664

My guess is that you are seeing "orange" everywhere because of your paint color. On my computer, it looks peach-colored. I have always had wood floors in a similar color, and my furniture looks similar to yours. I do always use wide, white woodwork for contrast. After trying many wall paint colors through the years, I have been most happy with a color that has yellow undertones to bring out the richness of dark cherry wood. Restoration Hardware has beautiful paint colors you can view on their website. I have been happy with the lighter shades in several of their color collections...the Butter Paint Collection, the Flax Paint Collection, and the Bay Laurel Collection...but depending on the light or the mood of the room, I have also gone with some of the darker shades. In my last house I used all but the darkest shade in the Flax Paint Collection throughout my house when repainting for selling--it had great flow, and Cappuccino was wonderful in the dining room. [Professional Painters in that area would only use Sherwin Williams Paints, but I insisted on their highest quality and was very happy with the outcome. They matched the color chips from Restoration Hardware.] If you prefer green with blue undertones (blue is opposite orange on the color wheel!!!) their Silver Sage Collection is gorgeous; years ago when their case goods were in a more polished style than they currently are, Silver Sage was the color they used in all of their stores and I still love it. I am generally most pleased if I go one shade lighter than I think I want. You can get their paint chips and have the color matched at your favorite paint store if you do not have Restoration Hardware in your area. Benjamin Moore also has a similar richness, and like all paint stores now, they use computers to match your paint chips. Suggestions for choosing paint color: buy the samples and paint each color onto two white foam core boards, preferably two coats. One color at a time, hang the boards at the corner of adjacent walls so they reflect off each other. Look at them at various times of the day and again at night. And on sunny and cloudy days!
