Fusion Pro grout on the shower?

We are building a new home. The shower in our master bath is white subway tile and hex tile on the floor with white grout everywhere. I mentioned to the lady at the tile store that I was nervous about keeping white grout clean and she recommended the Fusion Pro grout. The tile guy grouted our huge shower and the walls around our freestanding tub two days ago. I also used it on the floor in my two girls' bathroom. Since then I have started reading all the horror stories and horrible reviews online about this grout crumbling and washing away in showers. I am just sick with worry. Has anyone else used this grout?

Time will tell how white it stays as its a new product and only been around a few years.

It is by CBP word rated for showers. The number one issue im seeing with these new grouts is installers new to them or novices, over wash the grout on cleanup. too much water and to fast. You absolutely need to adhere to Initial install cure/dry times and get no second chance also consider ambient temps/conditions into guaging cure/dry time.

take 5 mins and read this very carefully and compare to youre situation - best

I used it in 2 of my showers this past year and it seems to be working fine so far. I have a good tile installer and there was a lot of swearing and sweating when he installed the Fusion Pro! (note: he was muttering/swearing to himself, not to me!)

It is a different method of installation and your tile person has to be open to doing something new/different. What I really like about the product is the fact that it is premixed and the color is consitent. I've had large tile job done before with regular grout and because they were completed over several days, with several batches of grout, you can see the color variations as the job progressed.

I've not seen a negative issue when it was properly installed and allowed the proper cure time.

Thank you for the replies. I don't think my tile guy was too familiar with it. I know he was washing the surface with a wet sponge as he went. I can only hope he didn't get too much water in the grout mixture. We are not moving in for a couple more months so it will definitely get a lot of cure time.

Brittney! How did the grout hold up? Was it okay in the wet shower and is it easy to keep clean? We're in the same boat right now and would love love any feedback or advice?

@Brittney Rupert any issues with your Fusion Pro grout 3 years later? My tile contractor is suggesting for showers. I am worried about problems down the road as it is still a new-ish product. We are spending so much on bathrooms, I want the grout to last for a decade.

@Molly H. The grout started falling out in chunks in our shower within weeks, we had to have our whole shower regrouted. Absolute total nightmare. I still have it in my kid’s bathroom floor upstairs but had to have a tile guy go back over it because it accumulated a bunch of tiny holes in the grout. I would never in a million years recommend this product. Maybe my tile wasn‘t familiar with it and didn’t use the proper technique but I’ll never use it again. 😬

Check our Spectralock 1! Was researching Fusion Pro a ton and have decided I'm going to be using the Spectralock 1 in my upcoming remodel.

Thanks. I have used epoxy grout in the past, but didn't find the stains to be any better for the extra cost and extra charge of the installer. I was hoping Fusion Pro would be a nice compromise, but not worth potential problems.
