Thoughts on continuity of flooring

I have ash wood floors in ground floor. Will be painting our stairs French white, with a dark grey banister. The wall will be weylands long acre blue. I wanted to get Nordic Oak (whitewash style engineered hardwood) or loft oak/New York oak which is more of a greyish wood tone. Wondering what people think about having different wood floor options upstairs compared to downstairs. Was trying to keep the project focused around three key repeating elements: raw/natural wood, stainless steel and a blue/grey scheme. I don't have the budget to get the same floors upstairs and thought the Nordic oak might look better with the blue walls!
