Need help pairing cabinets with MSI Carrara Grigio

I'm heading out this weekend for samples, but would love to know if anyone has had luck pairing DARK cabinets with MSI Carrara Grigio. It's a gorgeous marble look-alike, but the background is a little on the grey side. I love light kitchens, and my husband loves dark wood. We are compromising, with a "black and white" kind of thing - dark lower cabinets and light upper.

I can see no reason why either dark gray or black would not work with these counters without seeing the actual space i could not see what dark wood would work
