Yikes :-( the reviewstalk reviews don't sound good.

My brother-in-law has a Pallser recliner/lift chair. He is disabled and practically lives in the chair. It's about four years old and looks like new. No problems.

Try Bradington Young. Made in the USA, and you should be able to get a recliner for $2000. I paid $1500 or so with delivery a couple of years ago for 2 Bradington swivel chairs. I also own 2 leather club chairs by Palliser, and love them, but I can't speak for current quality. I would also suggest calling Wellington Leather furniture. I have made at least 5 purchases from them over the years. They carry several brands, including Palliser and Bradington Young. Their prices are cheaper than others, and it's a North Carolina company run by women. They'll give it to you straight.

I just ordered DH an IMG, sorry not made is USA, but Norway. However he sat in one at the store and loved it. It also had a more contemporary styling I prefer. It also swivels which is good for our furniture arrangement, bi as I recall a bit over 2000, maybe closer to 2,500 or 2,600.

I live in Canada and buy Palliser. Our couch and recliner are 11 years old, get a lot of use and has held up really well. We would replace this set with another Palliser set.

I would love to get rid of the big recliner...but I'm sure DH would move out.

This is also Palliser. It doesn't get as much use and looks new. I wouldn't say it's as comfy as the stress less ones but it's nice.

We have 2 Crown recliners by IMG. They are probably 5 years old and till work and look great. Hubby liked them so much he bought one of their chair and ottoman sets for his office.

This is the style we have but ours are in a pecan colored leather. I like that they don't have those giant levers on the side, it is hidden on the inner arm.

Why not a comfortable club chair with an ottoman? I wouldn't allow a recliner in my house! My late husband had zero desire for one. His doctor said they're terrible for posture and digestion.

Anglophilia - I'd much rather go with a nice club chair/ottoman. However DH gives me full reign of everything else when it comes to the house and he's trying really hard to let me weigh in on this decision. Re health concerns - he's been using one for 35 years and has no digestion or neuromuscular issues.

Annette - yours looks very similar to the one we're considering. It electric, so no big levers on the side.
