Help identify this plant + save it

I purchased this plant (which was originally 1 that I split into 2 after growing) from the succulent section of my local plant shop. It did so well for months and had healthy, firm leaves. About a month ago I noticed they began wilting and drooping, turning yellow, and breaking off. My initial thought was too much water or not enough sunlight but I hadn't really done anything different. All of my succulents are rotated weekly from outdoors in a mostly filtered sun (2-4 hours) to indirect light inside. I water once a week if the soil is completely dry. Soil is cactus soil and has large drainage hole at the bottom. Now I am questioning if this is a succulent at all and that may be why my care habits aren't working. I began trying to experiment and put both plants outside in the shaded sun and only deeply watered 1 (the right) for two weeks. But nothing has really seemed to change. Please help!
