MyTide

Have you guys come across where you can design your own Tide? I was looking to see if PurClean was discontinued and found this page.

I'd buy a jug with the old spice scent, just to try it out...

Old Spice. Gross. When we were traveling two weeks ago we forgot some toiletries so my partner bought a stick of Old Spice classic. By the time we got off the plane I was actually nauseated from the smell -- so cloying and gross. Definitely do not want my laundry smelling like that!

Researching a little further, it is less expensive than I initially expected. Wonder if they would block obscene bottle names... LOL.

MRB, trust me I considered obscene names. Lol. The Old Spice scent is "swagger" which I am hoping is more like the Old Spice seventies Head and Shoulders or Bounce dryer sheets.

Can't wait for your review...also can you tell me the ingridents in the Tide for whites?

Ok, so after the first load of light colors I am quite impressed with the "colors" variant. The scent is LIGHT. It smells very clean with a hint of cologne. It pairs quite well with a Bounce Outdoor Fresh dryer sheet. The clothes came out clean and have no odors. There was NO sudsing during the wash or rinses using line 1 in a full load. I am very happy with that, even though I am sure it has OBAs in it.

The "whites" version is ok. It smells like the new original scent and it is strong. I washed a medium load of whites using the normal cycle, hot water, heavy soil level, and an extra rinse. One of the items had heavy deodorant and sweat stains. One sweatshirt had tomato sauce and makeup on it, and of course the white socks. The load came out clean as I had expected, but I'm sure that Tide Ultra Stain Release, STPP, and some bleach would have better results. I didn't see any major difference in the "whiteness". All of the stains came out without problems.

As far as the ingredients go, the bottle is nearly identical to the normal Tide bottle. I am more that likely going to ask P&$ directly to see if there are any major differences. I will post the email here for you all to see.

I asked my brother what he thought of the Old Spice scent on one of his shirts, he said it smelled like dryer sheets. I had him smell the bottle directly and he said it smelled like "cologne and strong alcohol. Lol.

Not a bad review at all Dorey.

Unless I'm wrong the Tide for whites is relying on more concentrated surfactants and possiably an extra enzyme. It will do a good job cleaning and removing stains but I wouldn't expect it to whiten like a bleach will as there's no sodium percarbonate in it. Even the Tide with bleach alternative liquid has no bleach LOL. That being said some people will argue that if proper washing practices are use there's no need for a bleach to whiten, I disagree to an extent..even the hottest water, best detergent(without bleach) and a long wash time will not change the chem of water that has too much minerals ect in it which will cause the dingy syndrome. I LOVE Tide with Bleach alternative liquid expecially the older scent and really like it on sheets, but even in 154+ temps I need to do an occasional Oxy wash. Ok I'm don't rattling on and on....enjoy your new Scented Tide. Lol....

I'm a college student. I HAVE to be thorough. I wish the Duet had a cycle where I could crank the heat up, but it really doesn't.
