phantom screen for french doors advice

hello, we have numerous french doors through out our house that we are considering installing phantom screens. We had someone come out and measure and the projected cost is $1000 a door. Does this sound in line? Please see the picture below of our doors. Thanks

Case in point; For a new home I specified wood shutters to the client. The exposure to sunlight and the quality of the construction make hardwood shutters a perfect choice. When I submitted the Quote the reaction was shock and awe!! The cost per window (including installation) came to $700.00 each. But they responded by sending me a link to an online seller who offers shutters for $160.00 each (no installation included).

I'm sure the quality is exceptionally better, but Home Depot sells very similar products for like $200....

The professional quality is better, made to fit your door, and includes install. Yes that's the typical price for a large patio door. Worth every penny.

I agree with apaquin25. I'd try to fit one door with the Home Depot brand and see how you like it. I had done a bit of research as well since I hate the look of screen doors. Phantom Screens were extremely pricey and the Home Depot ones were a fraction. Just watch your Home Depot quality (multiple price ranges) and how the screen latches. Good Luck!

Just passing by and so here's another two cents!....Ellsworth and I agree......you've invested in a professional quality Kitchen so I'd be concerned about compromising on the windows! $1000.00 per window is completely in line with a professional product and installation.

The good news is that after reviewing the quality they opted for the better product. Window coverings are important to a home. They need to last a long time, withstand exposure to light, heat and cold, help insulate, and function well. It's worth every penny to do it right!

We have a Phantom screen on our French door, and 8 years ago it was about $700 installed. It's a little touchy sometimes, but works ok for the most part. Just make sure you keep it clean and lubed with the spray they recommend.
