1) can you draw the space in question, with all constraints (windows, waste line, etc)?

2) is moving plumbing entirely out, or are you willing to hammer up some concrete to get things the way you want?

3) what are your goals in changing things up?

Just purchased the house built in the 60's, on the bay, great view. Want to transform into a Craftsman style. Can move plumbing, but would prefer not to if possible?

So right now the L-shaped space outside the toilet and next to the closet is just open and wasted? crazy.

Anyway, I don't think you'll be able to do much without moving some plumbing. I'd suggest taking out the wall and moving the toilet against the opposite wall of its enclosure, enabling you to turn the vanity and make separate walk-through closet and bath.

That's nontrivial because it's a waste line, but it should be possible unless the whole stack is in that middle wall, in which case you may just need to add another reach-in closet on the left wall of your original drawing and call it a day.

Get a contractor in and make a few holes in the walls to see what you're looking at.

Here are a couple of potential ideas. The first would move the sink plumbing (additional cost) but does give you a double sink, a walk-in closet and additional storage to do with as you please. The second leaves everything on the plumbing wall, but does extend that wall to accommodate a small vanity. It doesn't give you more closet space, but it does give you two separate vanities and extra storage. And would cost less.
