How did this go? I am looking for a single-basin stainless for 36 inch cabinet as well.

I’m doing an IKEA right now and have the same question. What did you end up getting and are you happy with it?

You can put a 33" sink in a 33" cabinet, a 36" sink in a 36" cabinet, etc. I don't care what the sink manufacturers say.

I used a 32" Kraus undermount sink in my Ikea 36" cab, and I love it.

Hi, I have a 28” Krause and a 36” Ikea sink base and am having difficulty understanding how the under mount sink will be supported since it won’t reach the sides of the cabinet. Any advice?

HU-785268746 The sink base supports the countertop and the countertop supports the sink.

You don't want your sink clipped to your countertop; they leak. You want a strap system that connects to the cabinet sides and pushes the sink up to the bottom of the stone. Watch the Hercules Universal Sink Harness video at Braxton Bragg please.

You can undermount any 36" sink into any 36" cabinet, with the exception of a full apron sink into a standard cabinet.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC - can I ask why no full apron? We are looking at a 36” kraus apron front (10” apron) in a 36” IKEA cabinet. Can we strap it? or are we SOL? thank you!!!

You can do it, but you're going to have to deal with the cabinet doors being too large. Get different doors or cut down the existing. That's a lot of screwing around, plus the bottom of your sink doesn't align with the bottom of the adjacent cabinet doors which I don't think looks as good.

thank you for your reply! the adjacent cabinets have drawers (5“/10“/15”), so it wouldn’t align anyway. The other side is the dishwasher. We’ll see how it goes...

@Jessie how did this go? im trying to figure out how to use a 36" ikea cabinet under a ~36' w x 18 d x 10 h fireclay apron front sink.

For the cabinet to use under sink, I'm wondering if I can use an ikea 36 w x 24 d x 20 h over-fridge cabinet as my base to avoid cabinet cutting.

Sink would "sit" on cab but really be supported by the pete steel horizontal supports that are bolted to both cab side walls.

If I can't use the over-fridge, cab, then I have to use an 36 x 24 x 30 base sink cabinet and make cuts on both sides and front I'm assuming. Not sure how extensive this cutting would be. And wouldn't I basically be making a 20" h cab out of the 30" h cab?

For the front of cabinet under the sink, I don't really care about doors, meaning I can use a curtain if needed.

To left of the sink/cab combo would be dishwasher. My understanding is that I would need a panel and filler between it and the sink/cab combo.
