yes, the main problem is that you cannot see into the drawer. seems hardly worth it.

nice photo smm, but those cabinets look lower than 18" from the counter, no? it also prevents you from changing the counter some day and not the cabinets, if you do go all the way down.

I looked for a picture but couldn't find it. It was just one drawer under the cabinet. I definitely don't want the upper to come down to the counter top. So the issue is how useful it would be. I guess what I want from this question is a way to convince my hubby that it's not a good idea.

Other than coolness factor, does your hubbie have a reason for loving this? I mean, is there a particular thing that he envisions storing there? because you need to be designing around the way you actually live, the things you own, the way you cook. If he has [gadgets] and is tall enough to see into that drawer? Maybe just one, over by the coffee maker, party on. Otherwise, if you do the cooking and/or can't see into a high drawer, tell him to find another thing to love.

Acm, I need to ask him that. He said he just likes the way it looks. Funny thing is, he doesn't cook at all. It's a chore for him to even use the microwave! But other than that, he's a great husband!
