I think you need artwork that's "less busy"...you already have a lot going on in there that adding busy artwork will make it look even smaller...a nice light gray would look good behind the toilet...or how about a simple glass shelf above the toilet that you can put a candle on or something for "looks instead of art..

Kash, my "white unit" comment might've been misunderstood. I meant that adding more art, etc.. might be best with less clutter on your pretty chest! by storing stuff in a white thing on top of it, that....

Maybe a wp could introduce grey and turquoise/aqua. Then 1 art to complement the wallpaper.

I know what I think now. I don't like a med gray accent behind a toilet. But white and grey wallpaper/ stencil maybe, like this. But I'd place a sink rug for interest and of course your art choice instead.

My vote goes to the bright pink beach house, blue sky, water matching chest. It's perfect. Don't worry about the brown of the floor. That's just neutral and does not need to be brought anywhere else in the room.

hey, thanks for your comment...& thanks for addressing the issue I have had with the brown floor...(I felt like maybe that brown needed to be included somewhere)...I need to find 2 robe/towel hooks and place somewhere also, but not sure what would look good..I have a small wall right outside my shower stall that will work....should I get something that is aqua...or pink? ..or go with stainless steel...silver??...

Nice job on the chest…one comment I have is I wish the hardward was the same finish as the faucet and not that particular pull…says pantry or kitchen to me.

For a transitional bathroom - have you seen wallpaper samples framed? You have the idea with tissue box: seems soft turquoise and soft green are a standard combo.

yep. lighthearted...thats what I'm going for!...need that in a bathroom, right? :) I really like the frame you just posted.....is it okay to have the rose-gold on the wall with my silver fixtures?....and yes, the mirror is probably, by decorating rules "too big"...and I know the one that BeverlyFLADeziner posted works better with the pedestal sink...so I am thinking it may have to be changed, but I have always loved this mirror... I will post the wall with the green mirror on it tomorrow (after I get home).....it seems to open up this tiny bathroom too.

A bathroom like yours is smaller than a wide open kitchen, but finishes are mixed in kitchens. And yes - lighthearted in bathroom where we spend early hour, and a late hour of the day! :)

I'm sticking with my lighthearted bathroom....although I love...Love...LOVE the brown & white you found...it gives me some ideas for another room...:)..& wow, that mirror must weigh a Ton!!..but the image you posted leads me to have more confidence in "MY" large mirror...I'm sticking with it. everdebz BeverlyFLADeziner I'm posting a few more images of my bathroom. The wall with the mirror & a close-up of the mirror....you can see the texture of the mirror better. (I am patching the drywall in places too)...There is a shower to the left of the toilet, I am going to have to find a shower curtain. And I tried a wall hanging that I received from a friend, but I don't feel it's really working...The turquoise chest is to the left of the entry to the bathroom....I'm looking for a white cabinet to hang above it, to put some of my items in. Stuff that is too tall for inside the drawers. (I have already removed the toilet paper holder that was on the shower stall wall & placed it on the wall to the far side of the pedestal sink...kinda hides it & I like it there better...:)

The curtain could be the thing that leads to the next ... maybe you'll see art at Ikea... or buy items that interest you enough that you could see them hanging in a 3-set [over toilet].... esp. if they each have a shape or color relation to what slight pattern might be in the curtain... ? large enough, then 2....

If the rest of the room has a eclectic-mix look of art, maybe 2 different looks [same type colors] is ok.

Likely you'd want a 'sister art set' that are same artist / scenes[subject] yes or no?

everdebz & I agree..something is not working. The shower curtain I love, but it messed with me when I hung it up. The ceiling is done in a cream..the walls are bright white & white molding then dark floor. No window in this room. I was thinking I would break up the white in this tiny room a bit & hang kind of a "whimsy" shower curtain & add a little pattern....BUT, it didn't feel right....and the art that I was thinking I liked above: together it all seems too busy. This is hard work!! :)

The bird hooks were from Kohl's. I like the wall painted so the art stands out. It doesn't need to match the chest. You could do something closer to the mirror or one of the colors in the art. I like something simple for the shower curtain. You should be able to find a white texture with the see through strip.

I agree with most of the post. My personal opinion is going in two directions. Art should stand alone when it is what you like - regardless of what color the bathroom is. It does not have to match. However, when it is meant to match it is either a piece that brings all the colors together or when you have a lot going on a simple piece and color will ground the room. In your case - haveing one that brings the room together will work. Buy a piece that you like a lot - it will amazingly fit well because you've decorated with what you like a lot.

I went up to see a good photo of your art/mirror blend of light green... seems the curtain is ok - but what about painting toilet wall peach. Or the art's frame a peachy beige....

Remembering an old room with what they called a 'confetti look' - one feature wall had spotted colorful wallpaper and there were, like yours, a few colors spread around. Maybe the curtain hooks could be a shiny-fun turquoise... something more should connect the dots. Actually those bright turquoise balls might work. It doesn't have to match with your informal room.

A multi-colored rug/ but the minimum of color, might be another layer. Floor space for this? Idk why, but I'm not sold on painting that back wall.

Other than stripe / maybe picking up and enlarging a pattern in the art.... feathery soft circle.... etc. that's what my 'dot' rug was about basically.
