There is a lot more to the tall spindle method than just how close the trees are planted. You dont clip "ends" off of tall spindle limbs. Limbs are renewed on tall spindle trees over the life of the tree, there are no permanent limbs on a tall spindle tree. Lots of other things that go into the tall spindle system. Tall spindle is used in commercial orchards, with high planting densities on dwarf root stock for maximum fruit production.
