Where is the current entry - is it where the two larger parts of the "V" come together? Walking from the parking area to the low building will be quite a trek. Perhaps the roof section of the middle part could become a loggia to provide some protection from the weather. These are a bit Mediterranean, but you get the concept. Could even close it with French doors.

The current entry is just to the right of that large maple tree--in the lower section of the house. It is definitely confusing where to enter the house currently! :) You are right about the trek to the front door, and we originally thought about putting entry in that middle section too. One issue is that the ceilings in that part of the house are pretty low (7'6") and it doesn't feel as good entering into that versus the vaulted areas up front. We can vault the two story area that is just adjacent to the one story area and could put the entry there, but that still seems off-balance to me. And I feel like we should showcase the view as part of the entry--?

I've also wondered if the entry should be "straight ahead" versus seeing it from the side when walking up from the driveway. Does that make sense?

Can you get outside and take some more photos of each section of the house?

Good idea. I'm not at the house right now, but could do that tomorrow. I appreciate your thoughts to far.
