What to do in my bathroom?

I am renovating my bathroom, and unsure of what colour to go with for tiles on the walls. I have handmade terracotta tiles on my bathroom floor and this makes it look very rustic, which I don't particularly like, but cannot change. How can I make this look a little more sophisticated and modern?

You could buy some "bathroom rug" and cut it to size. Then you would have the color of your choice (or at least of the rug choices available for sale).
If you do not like the plush, rubber-backed bathroom rug style, look at a carpet store for remnants. You can have one cut to fit your room and bound on all sides.
Once the floor has been covered, you will most likely be able to determine a more modern style for the rest of the room.
