I think painting the walls will go a long way (something neutral like Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore). Just play with the accessories and maybe update your cabinet hardware and it should look great. It's a beautiful home, congratulations!

The colors in your new home read warm. That will work well with all the colors you love except cool grays. Warm wood tones and cool grays do not bring out the best in each other.

I don't mind the wood cabinets - I like stained cabinets, but not being surrounded by them. I can only see part of your kitchen - do a good analysis of your storage needs. I am wondering about a hood over the range and maybe less upper cabinets there - but not sure. The soffit area is throwing me off. At least consider replacing the micro with a hood.

Jan, I was thinking about repainting the cabinets a soft white with maybe a grey and white granite or quartz and grey glass subway tile accent backsplash with under cabinet lighting. Maybe apply some col9r to the circular ceiling area over the breakfast table. What do do you think?

if you do gray & white counters, gray subway you'll just be going from "too taupe" to "too gray". Just look at all the choices of Cambria Quartz to see there are more choices than beige & gray

I think that sounds like a plan: ) I'd stick to quartz too. Drag home a few counter top samples, and lay them on the FLOOR . There is lots of that!!! And you don't want "busy busy". I think the "hat" effect on the soffit needs to go. : ) Very!!! Florida ? : )
